What is required for a promotion push?

Everyone knows changes have to be made at Elland Road. The team needs to be strengthened ahead of what looks to be arguably our toughest campaign since we were reintroduced back into the championship three seasons ago.

The Defence:

At the moment, young Sam Byram, veteran Stephen Warnock, and possibly Tom Lees are the only players I rate good enough to stay in the back four. As I've said in a recent article, I would like to see an experienced centre-half brought in to help nurture the young defenders at the club for example, Ross Killock and Tom Lees.

The Midfield:

First and foremost, we need a talented winger! A player with that special something! A player with flair and the ability to create that spark. That sort of player has been absent from the squad in recent years. A decent central player wouldn't go a miss either. A good reader of the game and that someone who can pick out that final pass.

Up Front:

Our first signing came in the form of 24 year old Matt Smith from Oldham. Other than Steve Morison, I highly rate our forward men. I have to say  that I'm not quite sure whether Smith is a good signing but time will tell. Young Dom Poleon could prove a major asset this season and McCormack may start to bang in the goals like he did a couple of seasons ago if he is played as a striker.
