Neil Redfearn has
today supported the role of Massimo Cellino and says the Italian is taking the
club “in the right direction” and is acting in the “best interests” of the
club.
He says that Cellino is “football daft” and “loves the club”,
he’s here for the “long haul” and that the comings and goings this week hasn’t
really affected the training ground and the optimism around the club.
The Football League should take note of comments like this,
valuable words from someone influential in the club, it gives them a better
idea of what it’s like to be involved day-to-day with Massimo Cellino and Leeds
United.
Redfearn says that ever since Cellino started talking to
him, back when he was Academy Manager, he was really taken in by the President’s
ideas and ambitions. He says that Cellino is solely aiming for Premier League
football and believes that his side has been showing signs of becoming a team
capable of Cellino’s goals.
I agree with everything that Redfearn has said and I, along
with many fans, fully support what Massimo Cellino has done for Leeds United.
He’s put us on a level footing both on and off the pitch - but despite this -
The Football League is doing everything in their power to undo it all and leave
us to crumble.
I can’t imagine how hard it is to invest money into a club while
your ownership remains up in the air. If the league would just let us get on
with things; realise that Massimo Cellino is doing a great job; and give us the
best opportunity to prosper as a club it would make Premier League football
seem a lot closer – but instead - they completely disregard the fact that they
are supposed to protect Leeds United and give the club the best chance of
achieving success.
We go and beat the league leaders and gather a bit of
momentum then bang… they come in and try to destroy us again. Cellino seems confident of winning his appeal
and let’s hope, for the sake of Leeds United, he does.
Everybody hates Leeds United and The Football League’s right
up at the top of the list. They’re doing their best to destroy us – but they
never will.
Hopefully we can carry our form into Ipswich despite their disgraceful effort to halt us.
