Leeds
youngster Charlie Taylor has recently expressed that it’s his dream to play in
the Premier League with the team he's supported since he was a boy.
“Now, to get back up into the Premier League with the club I
have supported all my life would be an unbelievable experience and I don’t
think anything could really top that in football. We’ve got to put the hard
work in from now really to get there.”
The 21-year-old has had successful
loan spells in the past but the most notable being with Fleetwood Town last
season who won promotion from League 2. Redfearn has said before that he thinks
Taylor can play at this level.
Taylor has found himself involved
with the first team due to the sale of Stephen Warnock and his performances
have been exceptional. It must also be a bonus that he is playing with his past
academy teammates in Byram, Mowatt and Cook.
"I’ve known them since I was young and we’ve played in the
same age groups all through the years. Now that we’re all playing in the first
team together it’s just brilliant and I’m enjoying it.
"Everyone is working hard for each other – there’s no
individual players and we’re all team players. It’s getting results now. When
anyone scores we are all celebrating together and everyone is just happy for
each other and on Saturday Alex’s birthday couldn’t have been any better for
him!"
To me its really nice to hear this and also, that he wants to stay at the club and succeed here. The most
important thing now is to keep these young players as they have become the core
of our side.
