Word has been issued that McDermott may need to sell players in order to bring in new faces despite his plan of a major influx at Elland Road.
McDermott told Sky Sports News, "The situation is that there is a possibility that we may have to do deals going the other way with players going out to bring players in. As it stands there may have to be outgoings to get players into the club."
Judging by the way he worded things he isn't a bit impressed with the news, but why would he be? He was promised backing and if this is what you call backing, I don't know. GFH seem to be no different than Master Bates, well they certainly have the unwillingness to spend in common with old Ken.
Not all is bad news though. McDermott added to his interview with SSN, "I've got no interest in selling Byram." But you never know, young Sam may be forced out the door like many of our previous stars. Let's hope that's not the case.
After taking in the news of the wheeling and dealing method forced upon poor old Brian, some encouraging or discouraging news was released on the Leeds Official Website titled 'Boss Poised To Make Second Signing'.
McDermott said, "I've got a verbal agreement with one player which will happen next week."
The 'verbal agreement' that he speaks of is believed to be that of Noel Hunt as Brian was in attendance at his wedding not long ago and they seem to have a closish friendship. What other reason would there be for Brian being so certain of this verbal agreement turning into a done deal next week? It just has to be Noel Hunt!
The rush for investment is still on and if we don't get money into the club within the next month, I'm afraid that promotion this season will be almost impossible, but you never know with this league. Maybe, even the current players with no significant additions would be capable of launching a promotion bid. It's highly unlikely but you have to give the players a chance under a new manager despite how poorly the majority of them performed under the management of Neil Warnock. But we have to keep saying, in Brian we trust.

It's all positive now
