First of all, I rate Noel as a very intelligent player who uses his tenacity to get the better of his opponents. He is generally a target-man and has a great jump/spring making him a great header of the ball, but unlike them so called 'donkeys', Noel is no slop with the ball at his feet. His Passing is very consistent and he has the ability to play himself out of danger if need be.
I haven't even mentioned his tendency to pop up in front of goal and he isn't afraid to bang one in the back of the net. Although his record may not relate to my opinions of him, I have to note that many of his appearances have come from the substitute bench and last season, with Reading, in the premier league he struggled to start with the likes of Adam Le Fondre, and Pavel Pogrebnyak but when he got his chance in the side I thought he did all that could of been asked of him and at the end of the season he came out with a satisfying 6 goals in all competitions.
Nevertheless, we'll probably all make our minds up on him during the course of the season, but let's just hope that he doesn't turn out to be disappointing like some of our previous recruits. In my opinion, I'm sure he'll be a fantastic addition to the squad.
Just a few less goals than rosco although he was a regular starting 11 player when he wasn't injured
