I like what I hear when it comes to Brian's opinion on the importance of developing young players at the club and just how crucial it is to promote the inclusion of our kids' into the first team.
I always try to keep well informed of young non-professional players at the club and I aim to see them in the starting eleven in the future. For instance, Sam Byram came out of absolutely no where, played regular first team football for a season, and now he's a target for Man City and Everton just to name a few. That doesnt happen over night. It was all down to one man and one man only, Neil Warnock! Although something doesnt sound right here, it's the truth and the whole truth too. He was so absent minded and disorganised that he didnt even have a recognised right-back at the club that was fit and eligible to play so he thought he would ask old Redders for a lend of some kid off the block. Somehow that kid turned out to be Byram. None less than a footballing genius in the making. And for once, it seems that one of our Thorp Arch starlets will survive a terrorising transfer window and remain a mighty white player forever, well atleast for another year. Even that is being hopeful!
Nevertheless, we're marching on together...
That's a great article and i totally agree with you mate.
