E I E I E I O Luciano Becchio!

Becchio, Becchio, Becchio. A living legend. An unearthed gem. What else can I say? This man has never failed to provide goals ever since he joined us from Merida in 2008 right up to when he departed us for Norwich five months ago. No matter what, Luciano will be in our hearts forever. Well, he'll certainly be in mine.

Beccs managed to tally up a total of 75 goals between 2008 and 2013 and he still managed to be our top scorer last season, even though he only played half of the campaign. His knack of being in the right place at the right time was outstanding and his heading abilities were spectacular. Towards the end of last season, it was clear to see that our team was missing a Luciano Becchio. No disrespect to Steve Morison, but he wasn't the answer. But in support of Steve, I have to admit that he wasn't given the best of service at times from the team around him.

Becchio, in my eyes, picked the perfect opportunity to depart the club. I felt his final season, or should I say half season, was his best one ever in a Leeds shirt. That goal against Chelsea to put us 1-0 ahead was amazing and it will live long in the memory of us Leeds fans. Although we went on to be defeated 5-1 by the blues, Luciano hassled their defence and made a name for himself when the pressure was on. Disregards to how people may criticize him for the way in which he departed and how sudden his decision was, I support his judgement. I knew he was getting that bit older and I understand that football is all about getting money in the bank as quick as you can to provide a good, sustainable future for yourself and your loved ones.

In my opinion, a Becchio in a Norwich shirt is equally as good a man as a Becchio in a white shirt. So, with him being fitted in yellow and green, playing for the canaries, and living the dream in the premier league, all I can say is, well done.

Just remember this. He cost less than Berbatov and he scored more goals!
