Romanian winger linked with Leeds United

It has been recently speculated that Leeds United are keen on Romanian winger Gabriele Torje.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Udinese's linked club Granada. The winger made the move to Italy in 2011, joining Udinese from Dinamo Bucharest for a fee of around €7m, it was stated at this time he was tipped for big things with the winger showing great potential. Last season Torje made 34 appearances in La Liga for Granada, in this spell he scored three times and provided two assists.

Torje has attracted interest from a few clubs, however according to Sky Italia, Leeds are now also interested in the Romanian winger. The players agent was reported to be in talks with Torje's current club Udinese.

Here is a statement on an Italian website about the player, "Tomorrow may be a key date for the future of Gabriel Torje. It is a story of Fabrizo Romano, the agent of the Romanian football player will come to Udine to talk with Juventus. In the background there is the possibility Leeds, English club that has been proposed"

This statement from the Italian site was translated with 'Google Translate' but it was found out that they had made a mistake with 'Juventus' later corrected to 'Udinese'. This was translated by an Italian Leeds United Blog (@LeedsUnitedIta).

It seems that this particular rumour has gathered a lot of strength but I can't see why Udinese who's owners also own Championship club, Watford would allow there player to leave and play for another Championsip club? Time will tell.
