New signing - Marius Zaliukas - has been thought to be in contention for a starting place on Saturday and questions are looming whether he can be the one to stabalise our leaky back four? Will Marius finally be the one?
Zaliukas got another 120 minutes under his belt on Tuesday with the Under 21s - unfortunately the game ended in defeat for The Whites.
Marius managed to score a goal in the last minute and development squad manager Neil Redfearn labelled the Lithuanian international as 'a real find' saying:
"I thought he was the outstanding player on the pitch. He looked like an international footballer and he looks like a real find. There is no problem with his fitness, none at all."
With Saturday's home tie against Yeovil swiftly approaching, Zaliukas could well be in contention to start. It is conspicuous that we are in need for someone to settle the defence, recent results being evident.
Whether Zaliukas can prove optimal for this role is not answerable at this point but surely with his experience he has something to offer?
He seems to be moderately good with the ball at his feet and also quite good in the air but I would need to see a lot more of him before I could assess.
Let's just hope he will finally be the man to stabilitate our defence.
Marching On Together!
