Safe
from relegation and a very slim chance of reaching the play-offs, it looks like
this United side have nothing to play for.
Sam
Byram who scored a brilliant header in our 3-0 victory away to Fulham last
night said, the rest of the games they are playing for the fans and wants to
finish strongly.
"That’s
the main thing we’re playing for now, they’re starting to turn up in even more
numbers than usual.
"We’ve
got a great away support and it’s about showing them what we’re building on for
next season.
"I
don’t think I was in the game that much up until that point, It was a great
cross from Berardi and I just managed to get the header on target.
"I’m
always looking to get on the scoresheet and help the team out, we’re a lot more
solid as a team now. The fans can see that we’re staying in games.
"I
think we’re harder to play against and we’re also creating the chances and
putting them away at the same time.
"It’s
an important three points for us. It keeps our run going and we’ll take it into
Saturday’s game.
"I
think the first goal was probably against the run of play. They had a lot of
chances and a lot of possession of the ball.
"But
I thought we defended well and held our ground going into half-time.
"We
came out a lot sharper I think. First and foremost, you’ve got to stay in the
game. Even if you go 1-0 down, it’s important to stick at it and stay in there
so we’re not too far away."
This Saturday see’s us make the trip to Blackpool’s
Bloomfield Road, this should be a winnable game considering our recent form. We’ve
only lost 3 out of our last 14 and Blackpool have only found one win from their
last 11 games.
