I've been sprawled here in my bed, staring at the
wall, thinking about things Leeds United. 'Things' seem blurred but
glorious, dark but thrilling, and loud but soothing. Thinking about
Leeds gives me a sense of satisfaction. The club, players, and fans are
the real deal. This may be a strange, peculiar article, but after all,
it is about Leeds.
Many
people don't know what it's like to support a team like Leeds. It's
hard to describe it at times. The low points are more devastating than
9'11 but the highs are like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Everything is strong, powerful, and grasping. Once you sign up to being
one of us - you will never resign to leaving.
Leeds
United is the faith we believe in, there is no other like it. Well you
could be one of those Manchester Red fans, but then you have to stop
singing at matches - well you're allowed to sing 'oh Robin Van Persie'.
But that chant just reminds you of thieving someone's lucky charm - that
someone would be Arsenal. I have a bit of respect for Arsenal if I'm
being honest, but obviously, I still hate them. I just like the way
their club is run and how they do things, that's about it. At the end of
the road, they'll still be dirty, London, trash. Just like Chelsea and
Millwall.
All
of them so called 'big clubs' - bearing in mind their lackluster
customs - are in their own opinions, greater than Leeds. How stupid
could they possibly be? If I could laugh right now I would, but I
can't, so I won't. Seriously, who are these 'big clubs'? They're nothing
but glory-hunting, hypocrites. Full of a distict lack of knowledgeable
opinions.
One
big difference between The Mighty Leeds and these 'big clubs' is the
fact that them clubs have fans whereas Leeds don't have any, they have
worshippers. Just look how we, the followers of Leeds United, follow our
club. It's like a journey from planet Earth to the sun, meeting many
obscure emotions, obstacles, and challenges on the way.
The
club itself could be compared to the circulatory system - constantly
pumping the blood of Leeds United around it's supporters. In a football
club, that kind of feeling is hard to attain - rarely being achieved.
But to Leeds, it feels normal. It's been like this for a very long time -
certainly for all of my days.
Although
we've went through some tough times in the last decade or so, the
feeling of being committed to our faith, has never been questioned. It's
the Leeds way or no way. In fact, it's just the Leeds way, there is no
'no way'. The Leeds way will be the journey of a lifetime. It will be
exciting, moving, passionate, and comforting. There's no doubt that we
are the 'dirty Leeds scum' - something we are very proud of.Okay, we're
having a tough old time right now, but remember what we emphasise so
very loudly. Ups and downs.
Throughout this journey, just remember, we'll be marching down the road, together.
